Who is Roy Hall?
“Pro Days” are usually the final testing ground for a pro prospect to showcase his talents for interested NFL parties. With the Combine over and a “controlled environment” in-place, it’s usually the best-case scenario for a player to either solidify his rep or create one in the process. Ohio State’s Pro Day today showcased such names as Troy Smith, Anthony Gonzalez, Doug Datish, Antonio Pittman and David Patterson (Ted Ginn was still nursing a bad wheel). These are guys who are pretty much guaranteed to be signed by an NFL team soon. They were solidifying their rep. But teammate Roy Hall, who wasn’t even a blip on the Draft radar screen until now, suddenly threw his name into the fray with a rep-creating Pro Day performance that caused Cleveland Browns GM Phil Savage to say: “I think (Roy Hall’s Pro Day workout) will make some people go back and check their notes and see if they have him listed in the right (draft) order.”
At 6-2 and 229 pounds, Hall ran a very impressive 4.3-40, had 19 reps on the 225-bench, registered a 37.5″ vert, ran the short shuttle in 4.13 and caught everything thrown at him by QB Troy Smith. So, if you were asking, “Who is Roy Hall?” now you know. Check out his Pro Day highlight video at sparqtraining.com.
