Vikes Still Hurting From Moss Trade
Maybe the biggest off-season move of the day wasn’t Napolean Harris signing with the Kansas City Chiefs (six years, $24 million), but it brought to mind the gargantuan catastrophe of a trade that took place just two years ago. The Minnesota Vikings gave up the best receiver in the NFL at the time, Randy Moss, for LB Napolean Harris, the Raiders first-round pick (#7 overall), and a late-round pick. What do the Vikings have to show for it two years later? Next to nothing. Harris is now off to Kansas City and that first-round pick (Troy Williamson) can’t catch the football. UTEP cornerback Adrian Ward was the late round pick and he’s no longer in the league. When you think of what the Vikings could have gotten away with, it’s kind of sickening to ponder. Minnesota blew it. Now they desperately need a receiver. And Randy Moss hasn’t been the same since.
