Should Tank Johnson Have Been Released?
Blogging the National Football League, Blogging the NFL
In defense of Tank Johnson, it was announced today that his blood alcohol level was below the legal limit when he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving back on June 22. Tank’s blood alcohol level was .072, which was under the Arizona limit of .08 percent. Of course, he shouldn’t have been driving around with anywhere near the legal limit of alcohol in his blood anyway. No charges have been filed pending results of a completed investigation. Unfortunately, as I said before, Tank had no freedom to so much as jaywalk and not jeopardize his employment status. Nevertheless, the Bears did the right thing in getting rid of Tank. He had become a distraction they couldn’t afford. Hopefully he can turn his life around and get a fresh start somewhere else.
