Pacman Jones to Serve Full-Season Ban
Blogging the National Football League, Blogging the NFL
In a follow-up to my post on Pacman Jones’ latest meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell last Friday, the Commissioner kept the season-long suspension intact and said Pacman will be eligible to begin working out at the Titans’ facility after Tennessee’s season is over.
Big surprise. Pacman hasn’t spent much time convincing anyone that he’s a changed man. Or ready to grow up and be a productive member of society. But Tennessee doesn’t seem to be the least bit phased by the announcement. The Titans released this statement today:
“As we have said all through this process, we understood the suspension was for a year and made preparations to move our team forward without Adam Jones. We will continue to monitor his situation and will address his future when he is reinstated by the commissioner.”
Sure, the team would like to have Pacman on the field, but they’re 6-2 without him and the last thing they need right now is a distraction. I’m still skeptical about where Pacman’s head is, but hopefully with a few more months of isolation from his team, he’ll have had enough time to think about his actions and consider a new NFL lifestyle. I hope so.
