N.Y. Giants Raise Season Ticket Prices
Blogcasting the National Football League, Blogcasting the NFL
I’ve never condoned higher ticket prices during my administration, but I’m going to cut some slack to the N.Y. Giants. Why not? They won the Super Bowl. Besides, Giants’ season ticket holders are only going to pay about $7 more per ticket to watch the Super Bowl champs next season. I believe the product is worth the price. Then again, I don’t have to pay to see NFL games so I’m probably not the best one to ask. The Giants sent letters to ticket holders this week informing them of the roughly 8% increase. Last season, the average price of a N.Y. Giants ticket was $83.29, which ranked 12th out of the 32 teams in the NFL. Last year’s average increase was $4.72. The new prices will be based on seat location in Giants Stadium.

Imagine how bummed those Giants fans will be about ticket prices when their team tanks in 2008.

I can understand your reasoning regarding the Giants raising ticket prices this year. But, a a season ticket holder from a middle class background, and watching prices rise five dollars each year for the past six, it stinks.

I hear ya, Mike. Along with food and gas prices, too. It’s crazy.
