Moss To Green Bay Rumors Absurd

The rumors of Green Bay’s interest in Oakland Raiders WR Randy Moss over the past few weeks is absurd. The last thing this young, talented, upstart Packers team needs is a diva wide receiver with a “me-first” attitude. Sure, they need a talented vertical threat, but they don’t need this one. And I know this is a pretty bold statement, but I’m not even sure how much of a threat or how fast Randy Moss is after nine seasons in the NFL. Don’t get me wrong. Randy Moss, in his early years with the Vikings, was virtually unstoppable. I can’t think of another player I enjoyed watching more than Moss in his heydey. I just don’t think that’s the case anymore. What Brett Favre needs is the best incoming player in this year’s Draft — Calvin Johnson. So, if the Packers are going to get all crazy and make a big trade for what might be the missing link to Brett Favre’s final Super Bowl run and thus one last heroic and successful ride into the football sunset, they would be better suited to make a big splash by going after Johnson rather than Moss.

You are doing a great job reporting on the NFL on a daily basis. I enjoy you column, but I have to disagree with you on Randy Moss. I believe that he still can be a good contributing player to a team.
Remember his attitude start to fade as he was stuck with the “No Clue” Raiders. I know he would be a good fit for the Pack, because Brett will keep him in line. Moss (Still has HOF numbers) would greatly help an overachieving unit of Holiday, Jennings, and Driver could only benefit from his speed (still 4.3) and deep threat ablility.
