Lovie Smith is NFL’s Lowest Paid Head Coach
How is it that a head coach with Lovie Smith’s success is the lowest-paid in the NFL? Whether he wins Super Bowl XLI or not, Coach Smith is about to realize a big pay day. He was the 2005 Coach-of-the-Year. And he’s led the Bears to two straight NFC North Division titles. Add to that this year’s NFC Championship (and possibly a Lombardi Trophy) and you have all the makings of a contract extension and subsequent cha-ching. He’s about to enter the final year of a four-year deal and neither he nor the Bears want anything to do with him leaving the Windy City.
