Javon Walker Recovering From Assault

Despite being robbed and beaten unconscious in Las Vegas just a couple days ago, Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker is out of the hospital and should be ready for training camp. Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin said today:
“The information that I have is he’s going to be fine. Training camp won’t be an issue.”
Good thing because Oakland shelled out $55 million for Javon’s services over the next six years. Javon suffered a concussion and facial injuries, but he’s very lucky it wasn’t a lot worse. This is why a lot of players hire body guards — sometimes more than one — when they are “out and about.” I’ve seen it at different NFL events I’ve been at. It just makes sense because when you have a lot of money, there are always scavengers who want to take it from you. Javon knows the dangers of nighttime partying better than most athletes because his former Denver teammate Darrent Williams died in his arms after a drive-by shooting on New Year’s Day 2007. Javon can be very thankful he’s still alive and should probably rethink his methods of entertainment.
