Is Michael Vick an Innocent Man?

Michael Vick pleaded not guilty today to federal dogfighting charges and was released without bond until a November 26 trial. Michael then apologized to his mother and asked that judgment be withheld.

“Today in court I pleaded innocent to the allegations made against me. I take these charges very seriously and look forward to clearing my good name. I respectfully ask all of you to hold your judgment until all of the facts are shown. Above all I would like to say to my mom I’m sorry for what she has had to go through in this most trying of times. It has caused pain to my family and I apologize to my family. I also want to apologize to my Falcon teammates for not being with them at the beginning of spring training.”

What will happen in the interim has yet to be determined. Earlier this week Commissioner Goodell ordered MV not to report to training camp pending the completion of an NFL review.

What do you think of this situation? Michael’s been indicted by a federal grand jury but claims he’s innocent and had no idea what was happening on the property he owned but rarely visited. Is Michael Vick telling the truth? What do you think will happen to him until this trial begins on November 26? The NFL is conducting its own review and will decide Michael’s football fate before he goes to trial. What will that decision be? Will he play football for the Falcons this year? Or ever again? Is his career in jeopardy? There are a lot of questions to answer and there are four months before any kind of official decision stands a chance of surfacing.
