Hall of Fame Enshrinement Presenters Set
Blogging the National Football League, Blogging the NFL
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend is a mere 26 days away and the presenters for the Class of 2007 have been announced:
- Gene Hickerson will be presented by longtime friend and former teammate Bobby Franklin
- Michael Irvin will be presented by Dallas Cowboys owner/president/GM Jerry Jones
- Bruce Matthews will be presented by his friend and former teammate (and a Hall of Famer himself) Mike Munchak
- Charlie Sanders will be presented by Detroit Lions owner and chairman William Clay Ford
- Thurman Thomas will be presented by his former head coach (and also a Hall of Famer) Marv Levy
- Roger Wehrli will be presented by former teammate (and yet another Hall of Famer) Larry Wilson
One of the best parts of my job as an NFL blogger and podcaster is returning to Canton, OH each summer to kick off a new season. Being credentialed to cover not only the Enshrinement but all the events surrounding it is something I really cherish. It’s an added bonus to tour the Hall and take in the history and be among all the great players who have played my favorite sport. This year the event has been moved to prime time (it starts at 6 p.m.), so it will be a much different experience. The main reason for backing it up is the heat. And I can tell you from experience, it’s brutal down on that field. Last year I spent most of my time in the climate-controlled press room rather than suffer from my seat on Radio Row. Anyway, this will be my fourth straight year covering the Enshrinement on-location and I can’t wait to get back to Canton. I’ll be posting a lot more about this event in the coming weeks.
