Colts Focus: Regular Work Week
Well, the Indianapolis Colts finally made it to South Beach (Ft. Lauderdale if you want to be specific). I say this very tongue-in-cheek, of course, as a couple days ago some members of the PFWA made a big deal out of Indy arriving on Monday evening instead of Sunday night like the Bears. And I thought their “concern” was ridiculous. Nevertheless, Tony Dungy, Jeff Saturday, Dallas Clark, Adam Vinatieri, Gary Brackett, “Booger” McFarland and Bob Sanders (BPR14) met with the media shortly after their touch down (no pun intended) at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International.
Coach Dungy made it clear that he arrived this evening so his players could have the weekend off to get away from football for a couple days. I think this is a move that will pay off for the Colts. As Coach Dungy tries to emulate a regular work week amidst the craziness that surrounds the Super Bowl, his players will be better able to focus and stay in their routine as much as possible. Bob Sanders said:

But Coach Dungy is an excellent guy handling situations like this. He doesn’t really change too much. You say you’re going to the Super Bowl and you would think a lot of teams would change, but he pretty much kept things the same as we have had all year and making sure that we focus on whenever we’re doing our work, whenever we’re out practicing, that we’re getting better.”
