Chicago Bears Ink Eight of Nine Draft Picks, Greg Olsen First First-Rounder To Sign
Blogging the National Football League, Blogging the NFL
With only three weeks to go before NFL training camps open, Chicago Bears TE Greg Olsen was the first first-round selection to sign with the team that drafted him. Not only that, he was the first player from the first two rounds to sign. That’s only one out of 64 players. Sheesh. Agents and GMs will have a lot of work to do over the next month getting players signed, sealed and delivered to training camps. What’s most interesting about this event, though, is that the Bears have already signed eight of their nine draft picks. Now that’s taking care of business. I really respect the Bears’ organization for getting these players signed so everyone can be in camp and the team can focus on defending their NFC crown with the fewest number of distractions as possible.
