Can Rex Grossman Lead the Chicago Bears?
Blogging the National Football League, Blogging the NFL
I was watching Monday Night Football this evening, shaking my head as Chicago Bears QB Rex Grossman seemed up to his “old tricks.” His numbers appeared to be pretty good (9 of 11 for 59 yards), but in the first quarter, Rex fumbled three times (two botched snaps and a turnover on a sack) and threw an interception. You can talk about Rex’s impressive won-loss record as a starter, but he isn’t the reason the Bears went to the Super Bowl last year. And he won’t be the reason the Bears go to the playoffs or Super Bowl this season. The defense carries this team and if the offense is ever going to help make this a complete effort, someone other than Rex Grossman will have to lead them.
