Buffalo Bills Add Peerless Price to Long List of Season-Ending Injuries, Four WRs Remain
Blogging the National Football League, Blogging the NFL
As if the Buffalo Bills didn’t have enough health problems (nine Bills players — four of them starters — have had season-ending injuries), wide receiver Peerless Price will likely miss the rest of the 2007 season after having surgery to repair a disc in his neck yesterday. I cover the Bills for b5media’s BIGPLAY Radio NFL Podcast Home Team Edition and the announcement came as a surprise, because Peerless had not missed practice until Friday. He was noticeably stiff and unable to turn his neck when he spoke to reporters at his locker Wednesday. Head coach Dick Jauron said the severity of the injury was revealed after tests Thursday. The neck problem developed over the course of Peerless’ career and was not the result of a particular hit. In four starts this season, he had seven catches for 68 yards.
This particular injury means even more reps for slot receivers Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish with rookie QB Trent Edwards now at the offensive controls. The Bills really only have four healthy wide receivers on the roster (Lee Evans and Sam Aiken join Reed and Parrish), so safety George Wilson might have to fill-in if called upon.

I’m a huge Bills fan and while this seems like a huge mismatch with the Cowboys, hopefully Stanford’s upset of USC will inspire Trent Edwards to pull off a big upset. Bills fans egging the Cowboys bus will probably not help things though!
