Bears Fan Changes Name to Peyton Manning
Did you hear about the Chicago fan who agreed, on a bet, to change his name to Peyton Manning if the Colts beat his beloved Bears in Super Bowl XLI? Well, Indy won the Super Bowl, of course. So today this pea brain, Scott Wiese, starts the process by paying a visit to the Macon County Courts Facility. He will now have to advertise his intention in the local newspaper — the Herald & Review — for several weeks and then have a judge give him the ok to legally become Peyton Manning. At least he acknowledges his idiocy:
“I think I kind of represent all Bears fans. Not that I’m saying they’re all idiots like me, but I represent their passion because I really care about my team, you know?”
Wouldn’t it have been easier to fly a Colts flag outside his home the rest of the off season? That sounds like a painful enough punishment for any Bears fan. Stupid as this all is, I’m left wondering where it ends? I mean, does his dad have to change his name to Archie?
