$3 Million Man: Terrell Owens Gets Bonus
Wouldn’t it be nice to get a bonus just for not getting fired? That’s essentially what happened to Terrell Owens today as the Dallas Cowboys paid him a $3 million roster bonus. When you add his $5 million salary to that for the upcoming 2007 season (he’s in the second year of a three-year, $25 million deal), it looks like a pretty good year financially for Terrell. Will that translate to the field? I don’t see why not, although I’m still not sold on the talents of his starting QB Tony Romo. Last season T.O. led the entire NFL with 13 TDs (85 catches for 1,185 yards). He can do better. Terrell took part in the Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp two weeks ago while recovering from two operations this offseason to repair a torn tendon in his right ring finger. He caught passes and took part in offensive drills without any problems from the finger. So, it looks like T.O. will be at full-speed when the Cowboys start camp this summer.
